Custom cuboid dimensions
Rectangular Prism Net Generator
A rectangular prism—also called a cuboid—has three matching pairs of rectangles. Set all three dimensions and choose a compact, split or reverse net layout.

Worked example
A rectangular prism net with measurements
For a 6 × 4 × 3 cm rectangular prism (cuboid), the net has two 6 × 4 cm faces, two 6 × 3 cm faces and two 4 × 3 cm faces. Surface area = 2(24 + 18 + 12) = 108 cm². Volume = 6 × 4 × 3 = 72 cm³.
Length, width and height are marked beside their corresponding edges. A–F labels identify faces independently of the measurements.
Switch off measurements and choose Blank face labels for a worksheet. Fit to page reduces the model when needed; edge labels show the resulting printed dimensions.
How to print and assemble
- Set length, width and height. Try the three layouts in Advanced settings if you need a different arrangement.
- For exact dimensions, keep Actual size. Print the PDF at 100% and check the 50 mm calibration line.
- Cut the perimeter, score the dashed lines, fold the four side panels around the base and glue the two ends closed.

These fixed-size PDFs open directly, without running the generator. Choose the paper loaded in your printer, print at 100% / Actual size and check the 50 mm line before cutting. For other dimensions, use the custom generator above.
The standard download uses Layout 1 with measurements and face labels. The diagrams below compare all three arrangements at the same 6 × 4 × 3 cm size; use Advanced settings in the generator to export Layout 2 or 3.

Layout 2

Layout 3

Measurements need extra room outside the cut lines. A different arrangement can change the paper fit; check the size warning for your own dimensions. Choosing Fit to page changes the printed model size.
The geometry
Rectangular prism dimensions
For length l, width w and height h: surface area = 2(lw + lh + wh), and volume = lwh. Each opposite pair in the net has matching dimensions.
Quick answers
Frequently asked questions
Is a cuboid the same as a rectangular prism?+
Yes. Cuboid is common in British and international classrooms; rectangular prism is common in the United States.
Why are there three layouts?+
The same six faces can be arranged in different valid nets. A different layout may fit your paper better.
Does Fit to page change my dimensions?+
Only when the displayed Shape scale is below 100%. Use Actual size and resolve any size warning when exact dimensions matter.
